This high school project, conceived under the Design and Build model promoted by GISA, was an outstanding achievement in the field of industrialized school architecture. In this company, we worked closely with Constructora Capdeferro, Bernuz Fernández, ARC BCN Ingenieros, and Prefabricats Pujol to conceive, design, and construct this impressive building in record time of less than a year.
In this ambitious renovation project, we faced the challenge of transforming an original 20th century building, in a very poor state of repair, acquired by an investment group. As a team of architects and a delegated developer, we took on the responsibility of conceiving the architectural design for this building. In addition, we collaborated with prestigious interior designer Jaime Beriestain, who contributed his expertise in the design of exclusive, sophisticated spaces.
The single-family home project we are presenting here stands out due to the close, open collaboration between our architectural studio, our specialized engineering firms Bernuz Fernandez and SJ12 , and the client, who had access to their own construction company, Reconsa. The design of this house was conceived to meet a demanding functional program established by the client, while integrating sustainable design strategies and passive and bioclimatic concepts to achieve a very high level of energy efficiency, with minimum consumption and maximum comfort.
This energy-efficient single-family home was designed under Passive House standards, with the objective of achieving self-sufficient operation through photovoltaic solar energy. Special attention was paid to health and sustainability, using healthy, low VOC materials and finishes from natural and recyclable sources. The design includes outdoor spaces and stands out for its natural swimming pool, which recreates the processes of a small lake, providing a harmonious environment with its green roofs.
This project is one of our first social housing developments in collaboration with Bagursa and Fundació Familia i Benestar Social (FIBS). It stands out for its focus on providing quality spaces at an affordable price and for its functionally efficient distribution, avoiding any wasted space and making the most of each area.
