Zero km building
This unique building, located in Mollerussa, is a municipal archives building that safeguards an extensive documentary archive. We worked in close collaboration with the structural team of BIS Arquitectos and benefitted from the valuable contribution of ARC BCN Ingenieros. In addition, we partnered up with the renowned Prefabricats Pujol, experts in prefabricated elements, which allowed us to take full advantage of their experience and expertise in industrialized construction.
Our experience in industrialized buildings and the collaboration with Prefabricats Pujol, located in Mollerusa, allowed us to erect the structure for this project in record time, meeting the demanding deadlines through to its inauguration. We designed a compact building that conveys the importance and solidity of a large paper container under a shotcrete skin. This skin contrasts with the lightness and transparency of the first floor, creating the unique illusion of a rock floating in the air.
In this project, we would highlight the efficiency of the prefabricated elements, which sped up the construction process and guaranteed greater precision in its execution. They also help reduce construction waste and minimize environmental impact. We implemented energy-efficient natural ventilation systems to maintain the optimum temperature and hygrometry conditions necessary for archives.
We are proud to have executed this project in collaboration with Prefabricats Pujol, a company recognized for its excellence in the field of prefabricated products. We would highlight the uniqueness and functionality of the municipal archive, built with high quality prefabricated elements. Each project is an opportunity to create unique solutions that reflect the identity and values of our clients.
